Kitchen Addition

Kitchen AdditionThe owners of the 600 square foot kitchen addition in Hopewell had the builders incorporate antique architectural salvage and hardware supplied by homeowner Gail Samse into the construction, such as historic hand-etched stained glass placed in Marvin windows and antique estate doors from Argentina. The project included custom built cabinetry and crown moldings and, in addition to the kitchen, a powder room and pantry. The exterior was finished with scalloped cedar siding and copper. The project also included the refurbishing of and adding a glass cupola to an outbuilding which was formerly an upholstery shop which counted Albert Einstein among it customers. Click to View

Historicized Barn

Historicized BarnAny builder can make a building look new, but the real art is making it look old. This new 6,000 square foot barn on a Hopewell estate was built to look as if it had been on its site for 200 years. The builders weathered the wood and doors as well as developed a custom paint that mimicked the look of aged powder paint. The building functions as a garage with a kitchen, office and second floor storage space. Click to View
